500 years of reformation – the oracle of Zurich
An audio installation with Audiospotlight AS 24 will be in public in the next few weeks. The “Zurich Oracle” will remind passersby that the Reformers have to say today too.
“Shhh. Zwingli says: The most beautiful is the worker’s fruit. And I buy a two-room apartment for 2,000 francs a month. »The flowing children’s voices for the two passers-by at Zurich Main Station. You think reformatory thinker again, sometimes ironic and from today’s perspective. Over the next few weeks, the phrases will be heard in different places in the city.
Initiator Michael Schindhelm and project collaborator Claudio Bucher select who deals with morality and the right way of life. Schindhelm says, “The Reformers allow us not to leave them, and we have no time to lose, these are things that are still important to us today.” The Zurich oracle remembers us without the Reformation today not marked by prosperity and enjoyment of life.
In the beginning was the word
Schindhelm will emphasize the importance of the word with the installation. He enchanted pictures. “We get a message that we have decided, but do not understand so well and die from afar.” Even the innocent children’s voices objectify the mystery of the quotes.
The passers-by seem to have an ear for the reformers: they can stand in surprise and see where the votes come from. The oracle speaks directly to the speaker. It almost works as if the reminders of Zwingli sound in your own head.
